This little birdie is taking in the view of the old harbour at Dubrovnik from one of the many defensive towers incorporated in the historic city walls, advantageous views would have been gained of any approaching danger from anywhere along this stretch of Aegean coast.

Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island, if you ever visit Northumberland check the tide times and take a trip over to the island, its not always this grey. You can walk across the sands at low tide or drive across the causeway just check the tide times and don’t chance a crossing once the safe times have passed..

The view from his Pew – Dunstanburgh Castle

Built on the most magnificent scale,  the Castle stands on a remote headland in Northumberland. The castle was built at a time when relations between King Edward II and his most powerful baron, Earl Thomas of Lancaster, had become openly hostile. Lancaster began the fortress in 1313.
