I was on a ride out and called at the Hartside Top Cafe on Hartside Pass a great rider route between Northumberland and Cumberland when I met Davey, Davey has owned his Nocket 3 since taking receipt of it brand new from the factory over 42 years ago. The Nocket 3 was a BSA Rocket engine in a Norton frame, this one is his pride and joy and a real crowd pleaser wherever he goes.

I had the joy recently of test driving Triumphs 2016 Speed Triple, with its 1050 three cylinder engine delivering 138bhp whilst my bike was in at Triumph Newcastle for it’s first full service. Today I met Denny and his rare Triumph H3W having a run out to Rothbury as a warm up for his upcoming vintage rally next weekend. Denny has several bikes in his shed and a couple of current projects on the go as well. I suspect the immaculate 1943 single cylinder 350cc machine (above) built by Triumph specifically for the British Army is his pride and joy, the bike has made many an appearance at the Reivers Vintage Motor Cycle Club which operates out of Ashington in Northumberland. I for one am looking forward to meeting more of the members and seeing their machines. Only 24 more years until my bike qualifies!!
